Happy Almost-March!
As the winter cruises along, it is only a matter of weeks before we can resume our on-the-water sailing activities (unless you’re an ice boater!). In preparation for the racing season, the crew of Knockout has been holding bi-weekly chalk talks. This week, we are fortunate to have PRO Eric Lind taking us through a Mock Protest using an actual on-the-water event experienced in the 2013 season.
As I’ve talked with other racers, this is a unique opportunity to visit the “little room” without the intensity and pressure of the “little room”. We hope you’ll join the crew of Knockout this Wednesday, Feb 26, around 6:30p for an informal learning opportunity. This is appropriate for sailors of all experience and knowledge levels, especially young racing sailors. No RSVPs required as we will ring the bell when it’s time to start chalk-talking.
To prepare, be sure you are at least familiar with US Sailing’s Racing Rules of Sailing, Rules 10-18. (if not, you’ll still be A-OK!)
Questions can be directed to Kim Lovell Marian at 231.633.3885 or Kimgoblue@yahoo.com. We hope to see many of you on Wednesday!
Thanks,Knockout Crew
