TC Central takes a first in the Baker Pre Qualifiers!

Each spring HS team around the country focus on team racing, and the goal of each is to progress to the national championship and win the Baker Trophy. Team racing is unique to sailboat racing in that schools sail as teams, using tactics and rules to advance each others position. Each team has 3 boats and the the team with the best combined score (e.g. a finish of a 2-3-4 or a toal score of 9, beats a team finishing with a 1-5-6 or a total score of 12).

Team racing requires not only boat speed, but an in depth knowledge of the rules of racing and the tactical smarts to apply them to aid your team mates.
