Great Racing on the Boardman for the R8 Regatta!
Saturday May 10 saw some fantastic HS team racing on Boardman Lake with teams fro Detroit Country Day, Grosse Pointe South, Spring Lake, TC Central, TC West, & TC St Francis competing in 68 head to head races. After a winter of record snow and ice, and then a wet, rainy spring, race organizers struck it rich weather wise, with a day of 10-15 West winds with some gusts to 25 just for fun.
Parents and participants had a great view of the action on course from the deck of the Cornwell Sailing Center (TACS home). The TACS parents brought gallons of homemade soups and chili's and a plethora of great desserts to keep hungry sailors fed during the day.
At the end of the day, Culver Academy beat TC Gold in a tie breaker to take first place. Full results will be posted here shortly (parents and admins are taking a well deserved breather).
